It is a shot at the emo genre of music in general. Dashboard Confessional were selected for this comic because they're relatively popular, making it easier for people not familiar with emo-music to understand the joke.
The joke, of course, is that Jester cannot stand hearing emo moodyness. It just doesn't agree with him.
On another note, I've nothing really against emo music. I just don't like to listen to it myself, is all.
