- Back to Stories - Back to Main

If you're reeeeeally sharp-eyed, you might spot how the art changes so very subtly over the course of this strip.

Joking aside, there's a reason for this art-style change. Because no matter how much I tried, my regular style just does not fit the serious storytelling.
When the characters are so simply designed as mine tend to be, it's really hard to get them taken seriously unless I go totally Sin City (like in the first few strips).
So I made a decision to render the Hunter and the Lord in a more realistical mode. You'll notice the Lord "relapses" back into simple-design-mode. This happened quite unintentionally, but I found an interesting symbolism in it...
See, in the dark, everything is so much simpler. Good guy here, bad guy there, stabby stabby equals happy. Once the lights go on, though, the bad guy's no longer just an evil grin in the shadows. And the good guy's no longer the silent hero.

On a different note: I spent way too much time drawing those walls X_x
